The Lodestar Tower

The Lodestar Tower is a collaborative public art commission by DS Studio, Fishtnk, and Tom Svilans. Located in North Kelowna, British Columbia, this result of this joint effort is a place maker for a new community.  Standing 7.5 metres tall, with a radius of four metres, and weighing three metric tons, The Lodestar is made from FSC-certified and laminated Yellow Alaskan Cedar, as well as custom-fabricated steel braces. Its shape was dictated solely by the strength and capacity of the wood. With its canopy, lighting and seating, The Lodestar defines the public space and provides a much welcome place to commune.
